Stargate Universe Synopsis

'Stargate Universe' is a military science fiction television series produced by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper and aired on Syfy on October 2009. The series is shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

It is based on a modern multinational exploration team aboard the spaceship Destiny travelling somewhere in the universe, but unable to return to the earth. Nicholas Rush, the scientist and the leader of the spaceship is feared to be losing his brain. But it is not so. After the death of his wife he seems to concentrate exploring the galaxy. The director Mallozzi had remarked that Colonel Everett Young was the leader of the spaceship and not Nicholas Rush. A year before the start of the shooting of this series, Robert Carlyle had approached different production units in Los Angeles for a new role for him. He was offered some, but was fascinated by the role as Nicholas Rush in Stargate Universe and readily accepted.

Everett Young is the arch rival of Rush in the spaceship. He has been the temporary commander of the spaceship. The role is done by Louis Ferreira. The cast also include Elyse Levesque as Chole Armstrong, David Blue as Eli Wallace and Alaina Huffman as Tamara Johansen.

According to Stargate Mythology, Stargate Universe is set on the Ancient spaceship Destiny, launched millions of years ago. Before that, many ships were sent to the universe. An address consisting nine chevrons would have to be dialed to reach the ship. This was not known in the previous Stargate series.
In the beginning of the series, a team of soldiers and scientists step through Stargate to find the Destiny after their base comes under attack. They are unable to return to the earth or even control the ship because the primary systems are damaged. However, the Destiny occasionally stops and dials the Stargate to planets with necessary supplies for repairing the ship. The writers are of the opinion that Destiny travel through a different galaxy on each season.
Stargate Universe will be liked by young and old alike. Though it is based on mythology, does not rely on mythology entirely. Its theme is adventure and exploration, but its focus is mainly on the people aboard the ship.

Every effort has been made to avoid making it too serialized. The serialization should mainly emerge from character, development etc. The industry describes the show with words like dark, edgy etc. The increased levels of tension are balanced with humor. The differences between good and bad seem to be less apparent as the ship consists of those who were not supposed to be in there.
Mark Wilson of About.com gave a very high rating for the episode, saying that it was exceptionally well in comparison with other shows. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is of the opinion that Stargate Universe may be worth watching if it develops its characters. He praised the show. However the Hollywood Reporter would not agree with the above views. According to them, the episode lacks intelligence and stories are hard to believe.

Mirrored Table Guide

Adding accents of sophistication and class to your living room or entryway is very easy with mirrored bedside tables. These classy and elegant-yet functional and practical-pieces of furniture are relatively inexpensive compared to larger items. Yet they still serve a functional purpose in the room where you choose to use them.

Here are some basic questions to get you acquainted with the "what" and "why" questions of mirrored end tables.

What sets mirrored end tables apart from regular end tables? Well, of course, they are mirrored. Generally this is not the entire end table, but just the table top portion of the piece.

Why would someone want a mirrored end table? Well, if you're reading up on mirrored end tables, you probably can answer that question for yourself. Some people like them for the elegance they provide. Some like that they offer a different style of end table than plain wood. Some like the sheer quality of the materials used in a high end mirrored end table. Some like the brightening effect that a mirrored accent piece can have on a room. And still others use them to accent collector's items (such as crystal or pewter figurines, paperweights, or decorative vases or plates), which lets them double as a display case as well as an end table. The reasons for mirrored end tables are as diverse as the styles and interests of the people who use them.

How much should I spend on a mirrored table? As with all things, how much you spend on one of these items really depends on what you are looking for. In general, they are almost always more expensive than plain wood (or imitation wood veneer) end tables, but that should come as no surprise. If you are shopping for mirrored tables, you already understand the slightly higher pricing expectations that come with this sort of style. You can find mirrored end tables selling for $100 or $1,500. It depends on the style, quality, materials, size, designer, and manufacturer that you are looking for. Shop around to get a good sense of your options and what appeals to you.
